Pyrenees Futures

Thursday 28 September 2017, 1:25 PM

Pyrenees Futures is a town planning project Council is running in nine settlements during 2017. The project will produce Township Framework Plans that will guide how these settlements grow and develop.

The Township Framework Plans will identify the character and traits that make our towns distinctive, and use that as a basis to plan for a healthy, prosperous future.  The plans specifically address land use, urban design and the function of town centres.

We will be working progressively across the settlements of Beaufort, Snake Valley, Avoca, Waubra/Evansford, Lexton, Moonambel, Raglan, Amphitheatre and Landsborough during 2017.

Latest updates:

Pyrenees Futures is live in Lexton and Waubra

If you have thoughts or ideas for Lexton or Waubra's future, now is the time to get involved.  Council has started community engagement as it works towards developing township framework plans for both these towns, and there are lots of opportunities to get involved.

We are looking at how planning and design can foster the unique character of these towns, as well as facilitating growth that makes these communities healthier, stronger and even better places to live.

Surveys for these communities are now live:

•    For the Waubra framework, at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/waubraframework or in hard copy at the Waubra General Store.
•    For the Lexton framework, at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/lextonframework or in hard copy at the Lexton General Store.

You can also post images or thoughts on what you love about Lexton or Waubra on Instagram or Twitter using the #pyreneesfutures hashtag.

We will also be running drop-in sessions during October, and are happy to come and speak with community groups.
