Pyrenees Shire Council’s 2016/17 Annual Report provides an important insight into the operation of the organisation.

The report chronicles key achievements and events from the 2016/17 year.

It also provides statistical information such as the organisation’s employee profile, the population of the Shire and key economic factors.

Mayor Ron Eason said one highlight from the past year was the implementation of the Growth Plan and the Tourism Strategy.

“The Living Landsborough project was finished this year, and we provided community grants to 28 local groups and organisations,” Mayor Eason said.

“Council continued to lobby for funding for the Beaufort bypass, advocate for improved telecommunications and participated in Rural Councils Victoria,” he said.

“Flood recovery from the September and October 2016 events has also been a focus of attention over the past twelve months.”

Members of the public can read the 2016/17 Annual Report online on and hard copies are available from Council’s office in Lawrence Street, Beaufort and at our resource centres in Avoca and Beaufort.

“Please take the time to read the report and understand the good work that’s been undertaken over the past 12 months,” Mayor Eason said.'
