Flood Preparation for Pyrenees Shire - November 2017

WARNING
The Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology has issued a warning that HEAVY RAIN and SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS which may lead to FLASH FLOODING are likely to develop in the far west during THURSDAY night before extending across the remaining parts of the State during FRIDAY.  The heavy rain and thunderstorm activity will continue on SATURDAY.  

As a precaution, Pyrenees Shire Council is providing sand and sandbags for residents to use if the need arises. 

SANDBAGS and SAND can be accessed at the following locations from today.  A limited number of filled sandbags will be available at each site for people unable to fill their own.

BEAUFORT (GOLDFIELDS) RECREATION RESERVE

  • Sand and sandbags

AVOCA CFA SHED

  • Sand and sandbags

NATTE YALLOCK

  • Sandbags are located at the Avoca CFA shed
  • Sand is located at the cross roads in Natte Yallock

WAUBRA

  • Sandbags are located at the Waubra CFA shed
  • Sand is located at the at the Waubra Recreation Reserve behind the preschool

LEXTON CFA SHED

  • Sand and sandbags
