Proposed Road Renaming - Napolean Lane

Council received a request to amend the spelling of Napolean Lane in Waterloo to Napoleon Lane.

Council, at its Ordinary Meeting held on 15th August 2017, resolved to commence the process of amending the spelling of Napolean Lane to Napoleon Lane.  Napoleon Lane is the commonly accepted spelling in order to reduce confusion, particularly in an emergency.

The following proposed road name change is advertised for public comment:

Proposed Road:     Napoleon Lane

Previous Name:     Napolean Lane

Location:                The lane extends south west from Beaufort Lexton Road at Waterloo

Distance:                600 metres    

Council invites residents to forward a submission for the naming of this road under Section 223, Local Government Act 1989. Plans highlighting the affected road can be inspected at the Beaufort Office, Lawrence Street, Beaufort.

Submissions will be received until Friday 10th November 2017, after which Council will consider all submissions and resolve the name accordingly.
