Eight organisations and schools in Ballarat and throughout the Pyrenees will benefit from Rainbow Serpent’s community grants.

The annual scheme offers individuals and organisations a share of $15,000, raised from the sale of event programs every year, for projects having a positive impact on local communities.

Festival Director, Tim Harvey, said choosing the recipients from a field of over 50 was a difficult task with many high-quality submissions.

“There are so many amazing, community-driven projects in the area and we’re looking forward to helping many more in the future but this year’s projects were chosen for their potential to have significant, long term benefits in the wider community,” said Mr Harvey.

Recipients include BREAZE’s One Dollar for One Watt program, Beaufort Scouts, Beaufort Apex Club, Ballarat Pride Hub, Ballarat Permaculture Guild, No Lights No Lycra and two projects supporting programs in eight different schools.

We acknowledge the people past and present of the Wadawurrung, Dja Dja Wurrung, and Djab Wurrung tribes, whose land forms the Pyrenees Shire. We pay our respect to the customs, traditions and stewardship of the land by the elders and people of these tribes.
