| Buy Local in the Pyrenees | | Is your business contact information up to date with the Pyrenees Shire Council? The Economic Development unit at the council is preparing a Buy Local campaign, funded in partnership with Regional Development Victoria, the Beaufort Development Group and Avoca Business and Tourism.
The project aims to support business, find out what’s working, what’s not, where the gaps are, what services are needed and where training can help to provide valuable information and support to business operators across the shire.
Norman Prueter and Maria Rice will be working to implement the four stages of the project. The first stage will be delivering information, establishing a steering group and recruiting volunteers to conduct face-to-face business surveys.
It is important that business information is up to date for all businesses across that shire. The Pyrenees Shire Business Database has just over 230 businesses listed, but we are aware that some information may need updating. We will be writing to all those business to inform them of the Pyrenees Buys Local project and of the Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) program, which will be one of the key components of the project.
More information will be available over the coming weeks but if you are interested in finding out more, please contact Norman Prueter, project co-ordinator, on 5349 1183 or Maria Rice, project manager, on 5349 1138. | |
