The Beaufort Historical Society has a wonderful collection of Family and Local Histories, Baptismal, Cemetery and School Records, copies of "The Riponshire Advocate" from 1874 and a vast Photographic Collection.
Our home is the Beaufort Court House. Originally built in 1864, of locally made bricks, it ceased its official duties in 1982 and the Society became tenants in 1987.
In March 2006 the Court House was officially re-opened after a complete refurbishment.
