Events & Festivals

Keep up to date on all the events held in the Pyrenees by liking our Facebook page EVENTful Pyrenees.

From bush poetry, country racing and live music to trail running, markets and food and wine, the Pyrenees boasts a vibrant calendar of events every year.

Food and wine events feature prominently on our calendar with our region's amazing vignerons hosting several events throughout the year including the Avoca Wine Festival, as part of the Pyrenees Unearthed Festival in April and regular events at our cellar doors. The Avoca Shire Turf Club hosts exciting and fun-filled country race meets on ANZAC Day, and the famous Avoca Cup in mid-October.

If it's a family event you're after, the Moonambel Fireworks - Party in the Pyrenees, held in November every second year, ensures a fun day of kids' activities, local wine and produce, and a finale of fireworks not to be missed. Lake Goldsmith hosts its steam rally twice a year in May and October for steam engine enthusiasts, and the Run from the Hills trail run through state forest around Avoca is held in Spring. Many other smaller towns showcase their region with events such as markets, vintage car rallies, petanque tournaments, art exhibitions and Christmas celebrations.
