The rates and charges for waste management for the 2016/17 year is structured on the following basis:

|2. Improved Assessments (no kerbside collection)
|Waste Facilities / Disposal
|3. Improved Assessments (with kerbside collection)
|Waste Facilities / Kerbside & Recycling
A maximum of three 'vacant assessments' will apply to landowners with more than three vacant farming assessments.
Unimproved Assessments (Vacant) - will attract a Waste Facilities Levy
If you are part of a farming enterprise and have more than three vacant farming assessments, a maximum levy of $147.00 will apply where an exemption is claimed.
All Improved Assessments (With No Kerbside Collection) - will attract a Waste Facilities/Disposal Charge based on estimated operating, disposal and administrative costs.
Improved Assessments (Receiving Kerbside Collection) - will attract Waste Collection/Disposal Charges (for domestic and recycling collection) based on the additional cost of providing these services.
Improved Assessments – Avoca & Beaufort (Receiving Kerbside Collection) - will attract Waste Collection/Disposal Charges (for domestic, recycling and greenwaste collection) based on the additional cost of providing these services.
Green Waste Collection Service (Avoca and Beaufort Townships)
Council has continued with their green waste collection service within the townships of Avoca and Beaufort which has also been widely accepted by the community.
- A 240 litre bin with a lime green lid was provided to households within the serviced areas.
- The green waste bin service has improved the ability for residents of Avoca and Beaufort to remove greenwaste from their property.
This service has allowed for the recovery and use of greenwaste by the capping of old tip sites and use around existing transfer stations with weed reduction, reducing greenhouse gas liability, and reducing contamination of recyclables.
Approximately 900 cubic meters of greenwaste is collected annually.
What items are able to be placed in the Green Waste Bin?

What items DO NOT go into in the Green Waste Bin?
- Plastic bags
- Household rubbish
- Soil & rubble
- Large logs
- Pot plants
