Council elections are held every four years and are conducted by mail.
You are enrolled for Council elections if:
- You are on the State Roll for an address within this Shire; or
- You are the first or second named non-resident ratepayer; or
- You are not included in the preceeding categories and you apply to be enrolled (registration is not compulsory); or
- You are nominated by a company ratepayer to vote on its behalf.
Once listed on the Voters Roll, voting at Council elections is compulsory. Voter's Rolls will be available for inspection at Council offices and libraries within the Shire prior to each election.
