COVID-19 impacting service delivery at Pyrenees

Council would like to inform the community that high rates of COVID-19 in our workforce is affecting service delivery.

State Government COVID-19 data shows active cases in the Pyrenees as 78, with 15 in the previous 24 hours (as at 11.40am May 12). The City of Ballarat has 1775 active cases and 389 in the same 24-hour period. (Victorian COVID-19 data | Coronavirus Victoria)

Council is working through the staff shortages as best as possible.

CEO Jim Nolan is asking for the community’s patience.

“Illness and isolation periods have impacted staff across all areas of Council,” Mr Nolan said.

“The unaffected staff are doing their best in a tough situation, and we are conscious of keeping them healthy as well,” he said.

“We are asking for your patience and understanding, particularly when it comes to responding to your requests or when accessing services.”

The staff shortages have already meant Council has been unable to open resource centres at times.

“Council will do its best to respond where possible, and we look forward to operating at full capacity when everyone is well,” Mr Nolan said.
