Governance Rules - Request for Public Feedback

As part of the implementation of the Local Government Act 2020, Council is preparing new Governance Rules.  The draft Governance Rules 2020 are now on public exhibition, together with a range of supporting policies and procedures, and Council is seeking feedback from its community on these documents:

  • Draft Governance Rules 2020
  • Draft Governance Rules Appendix B – Election Period Policy 2020
  • Draft Councillor Expenses Policy 2020
  • Draft Public Transparency Policy 2020
  • Draft Procedure – Assigning Councillors to Committees 2020

Copies of these documents can be viewed via the links below or at the Avoca and Beaufort Community Resource Centres and Beaufort Shire Office.  Residents may also request a copy of these documents directly from the Shire Office by calling 1300 797 363 or emailing pyrenees@pyrenees.vic.gov.au

Council will hold a session to receive any submissions regarding these documents at 4.00 pm on Tuesday, 11th August 2020.  These sessions will be held virtually via Zoom and, if you wish to participate, submissions must be received by 5.00 pm on Friday 7th August 2020.  Submitters will be contacted to arrange participation on Monday 10th August 2020.
