The wet weather experienced in the southern part of the shire has lead to an increase in Customer Action Requests.

Rain can impact a number of Council assets, including roads, and sustained wet weather also hampers any maintenance or remedies.

The public is using the Customer Action Request system to report issues and a high volume are outstanding.

Council Mayor Damian Ferrari said using the CAR system helped the organisation keep track of concerns and issues.

“We would like to thank the community for being proactive and reporting to us in a timely manner,” Cr Ferrari said.

“Unfortunately, we aren’t able to action requests as quickly as we’d like as the environment is staying wet,” Council CEO Jim Nolan said.

“Using heavy machinery in sodden soils can often exacerbate and not fix the problem,” Mr Nolan said.

“Rest assured that as soon we get some rain-free days and conditions begin to dry out, we’ll be out fixing what we can,” he said.

Council is encouraging people to drive to the conditions, and never drive, walk or ride through flood water.
