Pyrenees Shire Council will roll out the red carpet for new residents next at an official welcome ceremony this week.
The Council holds a welcome to new residents’ each year and this year it will be held at the Avoca Football and Netball Club on Wednesday 10th October 6:30pm.
Pyrenees Shire Council Mayor David Clark said the annual welcome event was a great opportunity for new and established residents to network with each other and form important new connections.
“It’s also an opportunity for new residents to get an insight into Council’s services, learn what community groups are available and build their sense of place and belonging,” Cr Clark said.
“Another great benefit of the night is that you will meet other people who are also new to the community.”
The evening starts with delicious award-winning Pyrenees wines and refreshments. Timely fire safety information will be provided by the CFA West Region Community Liaison officer.
Cr Clark said: “We greatly value feedback from our residents, and appreciate the new ideas gathered from the residents’ survey which is conducted at the event. The feedback from the survey assists in the development of the Shire’s economic plans.”
