Congratulations to our first Shop Local Winner!

Pyrenees Shire Council is pleased to announce the first winner of the Shop Local and Win campaign.

The competition allows locals the chance to win a weekly $100 shopping voucher to the business of their choosing by spending $10 at a business in the Pyrenees Shire.

This week’s winner is Delvene Barber from Avoca who has chosen to receive the $100 voucher from Summerfield Winery.

“Congratulations to Delvene who is our first winner in this five-week competition,” Mayor Damian Ferrari said.

The Shop Local and Win competition has proved to be popular with residents throwing their support behind businesses and shopping local. This week’s receipts added up to more than $2,000.

The competition opened Monday 23rd August and closes Sunday 26th September.

Shoppers simply need to submit their receipts, with name, phone number and postcode written on the back, to any of the locations listed below.

  • Avoca Information and Community Centre – outside the building during lockdown
  • Beaufort Community Resource Centre – outside the building during lockdown
  • Lexton Community Store
  • Waubra General Store
  • Snake Valley Post Office

“If COVID-19 and constant lockdowns has taught us anything, it is the importance of shopping local and supporting one another,” Cr Ferrari said.
