Beaufort’s Sunday by the Lake event, line up announced

Pyrenees Shire Council’s inaugural Sunday by the Lake event will feature two musical acts and a circus performer.

Freya Josephine Hollick (duo), Skyscraper Stan and the Commission Flats, and hoola hoop artist Hayley Hoopla will be bringing festivities to the Beaufort Lake Foreshore this summer on January 9.

Council is organising this free event with the aim of bringing visitors and community together in a relaxed atmosphere, through entertainment and good food.

“This will be a time for the Pyrenees community and visitors alike to spread out a picnic rug, and connect in a COVID safe environment with a festive atmosphere,” Mayor Ron Eason said.

The event has been funded by the State Government’s CovidSafe Outdoor Activation Fund.

“Council is really excited to be able to support regional musicians, artists and food businesses who have been especially hard-hit from COVID restrictions,” Cr Eason said.

Planning for a second Sunday by the Lake event is in train, with more info to follow.

The newly redeveloped foreshore will provide a great backdrop, with play equipment in place for all ages.

Attendees will need to check-in, and follow health and safety directions.

The event will run from 3pm-6pm.
