Pyrenees Shire Council is supporting local primary schools in encouraging students to become physically active during the month of October.
It’s a great way to help students learn healthy habits and achieve the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity each day.
It can also help develop their social skills, including spending time with friends and family.
Students and their families are encouraged to walk, ride or scoot to school.
Students will also participate in a 10,000 Steps Pedometer Challenge whereby they can monitor their physical activity each day.
Pyrenees Shire Council will supply each primary student with a pedometer, so all students can participate.
