Business Support Officer
Part time (22.8hrs per week) – Limited Tenure (12 months)
Band 6 (Salary $94,507 - $102,315 Pro Rata) + Super
Pyrenees Shire Council is seeking a motivated and community focused professional to join the Economic Development and Tourism team.
Working closely with local businesses, industry groups and government agencies, the Business Support Officer will assist in delivering programs, events and initiatives that support business growth, capacity building and economic development outcomes across the municipality.
Reporting to the Manager Economic Development and Tourism, the Business Support Officer will:
- Support the implementation of Council's Economic Development and Tourism programs
- Promote business support initiatives through direct engagement with local businesses
- Coordinate workshops, networking opportunities and industry events
- Provide businesses with information regarding grants, training and government programs
- Develop and distribute business communications and electronic newsletters
- Build strong relationships with local business associations, networks and stakeholders
- Support tourism projects, marketing initiatives and promotional activities as required
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in economic development, small business operations, tourism or a related field
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated project coordination and organisational abilities
- The ability to build productive relationships with businesses and community stakeholders
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- A proactive, innovative and customer-focused approach to your work
