Pyrenees Shire is a progressive and innovative municipality which serves a population of 7,301.  The shire’s administration is based at Beaufort which is only 30 minutes from Ballarat and 90 minutes from Melbourne.  The shire is renowned for its cereal and hay crops, wool, forestry and developing tourism industry including the renowned Pyrenees wine area.  It is supported by health, education and community services.

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Property Revenue Officer within Council’s Finance Department, responsible for maintaining Council’s Property Rating System, Addressing, Voting, Accounts Receivable and Domestic Animal Registrations. This position will report directly to the Manager Finance.

It is desirable that you possess a tertiary qualification with proven experience in a similar role or a minimum of five years’ experience working in Local Government rating and valuations. You will have demonstrated and substantial knowledge of legislative provisions application to Local Government rating and valuations processes and substantial experience with Local Government rates, valuations, domestic animal registration and debtors software systems.

The salary classification for the position will be in accordance with the Victorian Local Authorities Award, 2001 and Pyrenees Shire Council’s 2019 Enterprise Bargaining Agreement and will be Band 5 or 6, dependent on experience.
