Australia Day Awards 2022

Nominations for Council's 2022 Australia Day Awards are now open.

Do you know someone who has done something extraordinary who you feel needs to be recognised publicly?  Do you know an organisation/group that has made a significant contribution to the Pyrenees Community?

Nominate in these categories:

  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Citizen of the Year
  • COVID Hero
  • Organisation of the Year

Important changes to the 2022 Australia Day Award nomination categories:

In previous years you have been able to nominate an Event of the Year. For the last two years, COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of many community events.  As a result, the Community Event of the Year has been suspended and a new COVID Hero category introduced. The COVID Hero Award recognises someone who has made a vital contribution to the Pyrenees community during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Organisation of the Year award is for any local organisation or group that has continued to be active and provide services or activities in their community throughout 2021.

To recognise an outstanding event held this year, please consider nominating the organising group under the Organisation of the Year category. If you're not sure which category is best for your nomination, please call 1300 797 363 or email

The closing date for nominations is 5pm Friday 3 December 2021
