Social Support Group Activities have recommenced in 2021!
Beaufort Social Support Group
Meet every Thursday at the Community Centre in Pratt Street Beaufort from 10:00am to 2:30pm. Activities can include arts and crafts, film days, and outings to different places, theme days, special interest days and many more fun activities.
Lunch is also provided at the end of the activities.
Snake Valley Social Support Group
Meet every Wednesday at the Snake Valley Community Hall, Linton-Carngham Road from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Activities are similar to Beaufort Group.
Beaufort Out & About Social Support Group – Looking for people interested in participating!
Runs on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. You, the clients get to choose where you would like to go and what you would like to do within one hour from Beaufort.
Avoca Out & About Social Support Group
Runs every 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. You, the clients get to choose where you would like to go and what you would like to do within one hour from Avoca.
Beaufort Shopping Bus
Runs every Tuesday. People are picked up and taken to Beaufort CBD to do banking, pay bills, and collect medication or do food shopping. Clients also have lunch together at a local cafe before being taken home.
Aquatics Social Support Group - Residents who would like to do some gentle exercise in water to stay active, mobile and have some fun. If you would like a specific exercise plan you would need to arrange an appointment with an exercise physiologist. Held every Friday morning at the Ballarat Aquatic Centre. You will need to pay for your pool entry fee and lunch afterwards.
Aquatic sessions are now available for people in the North of the Shire. Clients will be picked up and taken to the Maryborough Pool on a Friday. You will need to pay for your pool entry fee and lunch afterwards.
Held on last Thursday of the month from 12.00pm to 2.00pm at Beaufort Community Centre, Pratt Street Beaufort. Enjoy a catered meal served by some of our lovely support staff. A great way to meet with other members of your community!
Avoca Health & Wellbeing Group
Client goals are the focus of this program, your input/suggestions are very important. Can include a cuppa and a chat; craft/art activities; outings; learning new things, the possibilities are endless! Held every Wednesday at the Avoca Senior Citizens Centre from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Blokes Day Out
This one is just for the men. A chance to get together once a month for a meal and chat about things that men like to talk about. Meeting together at a local pub/hotel, every second Tuesday of the month starting 13 July 2021 from 12:00 to 2:30pm. Lunch will be at your cost, plus the Social Support Fee.
Are you thinking, this is great but how do I get there?
All Social Support Group attendees are provided with transport if they need it, to and from all venues.
How do I get involved?
You need to be registered with My Aged Care and have Social Support Group included.
Cost of each session (depending on eligibility) starts at $8.00 and clients are billed monthly.
