Agriculture Victoria and Council are presenting Dr Robert Suter and Tim Leeming at the Avoca Community Centre (Senior Citizens Centre) on 'Optimising ewe performance and early lamb survival'.

  • Choosing the right lambing time to balance production and profitability.

Lamb survival and metabolic disorder management
  • Lamb survival, the number one 'disease' of the Australian sheep industry, key guidelines and trigger points
  • Identification and managment of hypocalcaemia, pregnancy toxaemia and acidosis

 

About the presenters:

Dr Robert Suter

Is a Senior Veterinary Officer – Sheep with Agriculture Victoria. This industry sponsored role sees him being a source of knowledge for the entire Victorian industry. He will share his 40 years of experience from Australia and across the world in providing guidance as to ‘best practice’ lamb survival.

Tim Leeming

Tim and his wife Georgie run a self-replacing prime lamb flock, a seed stock business at Pigeon Ponds in Western Victoria. Tim is actively involved in the delivery of industry extension activities such as Lifetime Ewe Management, Lifting Lamb Survival, Bredwell Fedwell and Bestwool/Bestlamb. He has in the past chaired the Western Victorian SALRC Committee.
