Nature and history inspire new Beaufort street names

Pyrenees Shire Council has turned to local flora and fauna to name three roads created by the Beaufort Key Worker Accommodation Project.
An additional unnamed road off Hill and Callister streets is proposed to be named Mabel Court after Australian community leader and philanthropist Mabel Thomas, born in Beaufort in 1870.

Snake Valley road works to improve traffic safety

Works will begin on 23 February to install three speed humps near the Snake Valley Primary School and an altered township entrance on Snake Valley–Smythesdale Road.

Soft plastics recycling program launched to reduce waste

Under the scheme, households can put their soft plastics into special orange bags to put into kerbside recycling bins to be made into new Australian products.
This free and optional service aims to help the community recycle more products and reduce waste to landfill.
