We are continuing to assess roads in the Shire's north, identifying any that need immediate or long-term reinstatement.
This will form part of our application for Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
Our roads are currently open to traffic; however, caution should be taken when driving in flood-affected areas. It is advised that, where possible, drivers avoid or take extra care on gravel roads or floodways affected by floodwaters.
We are also aware a number of community assets have been impacted, including the Avoca and Natte Yallock Recreation Reserves. Other community assets impacted include:
- Avoca's Lions Park
- Avoca and Natte Yallock Recreation Reserve playgrounds
- Avoca river flats
The Avoca Playground's soft fall has been replaced, and the Natte Yallock Playground soft fall will be replaced next week.
Immediate repair works have been completed to restore access to key community facilities, including the Natte Yallock Recreation Reserve.
Roads around Glenpatrick have been repaired to an emergency services standard, with permanent repairs planned for the coming months.
Power to the Avoca Lions Park BBQs has been restored.
Access to the Avoca Lions Park RV overnight camp and public amenities is now available; however, further repairs will be required to the car parking area's pavement.
