Pyrenees Shire boasts a vibrant calendar of events every year.

Our local community groups also put on great community events for our communities. You can view the community events below.
Food and wine events feature prominently in our calendar with our region’s award-winning vignerons hosting several events throughout the year including “Pyrenees Unearthed Wine + Food festival” in April or a range of cellar door events matching local entertainment with fabulous wine and food. The Avoca Shire Turf Club hosts exciting and fun filled country race meets in mid-March and mid-October.
Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally is held twice per year in May and November for steam engine enthusiasts. There are plenty of equestrian endurance rides, car rallies, cycling and walking events that take advantage of the state forests or country roads that make the Pyrenees such as majestic place. Many smaller towns showcase their area with events such as markets, vintage car rallies, petanque tournaments, art exhibitions and other seasonal celebrations.
