Road Excavation Permits

Road Excavation Permits are issued from the Pyrenees Shire Council. Road Openings include driveway crossings, culverts and pipe works under the road.

The applicant requesting a Road Excavation Permit may be either a Registered Tradesperson or property owner. The standard conditions on the back of the road excavation permit need to be addressed. Payment of an application fee is required, but it is dependent on the works being carried out. You will be required to provide details of your planned excavation work for your permit application. Please liaise with Council when filing your permit.

The Pyrenees Shire Council Road Excavation Works Code of Practice has been formulated in order to provide clear understanding for contractors who wish to perform excavation works within road reserves controlled by the Pyrenees Shire Council.

Conducted on any part of the roadway, pathway or shoulder.

Major works (>8.5 m2) in a road reserve with a speed limit over 50 kmh:
