Pyrenees Shire Council has recently reviewed and amended its Local Laws to ensure that they are contemporary and address matters relevant to the shire.
Key themes of the new General Local Law 2019 include managing dangerous or unsightly land, temporary dwellings, shipping containers and footpath signage and furniture. For a full summary of changes, please review the below community impact statement.
Pyrenees Shire Council's General Local Law 2019 was adopted by Council on 19 February 2019 and commenced operation on 7 March 2019. At this time Local Law No.2 Environment and Local Law No.3 Streets and Roads were revoked.
Council also resolved on 19 February 2019 to develop a Local Law Implementation Plan which is to be formally considered at a future meeting of Council.
