Pyrenees Shire Council invites residents to provide feedback on the Draft 2026 Economic Development and Investment Attraction Strategy.
The strategy will set clear priorities to strengthen the Shire's economy, attract new investment, and support business growth over the next five years.
It focuses on creating jobs, improving infrastructure, encouraging innovation, and building on Pyrenees Shire’s' strengths under the following five key themes:
- Agriculture as the primary economic driver
- Housing enabling population and workforce growth
- Tourism converting local assets into external demand
- Local value-adding economic activity
- Workforce underpinning all sectors
Pyrenees Shire Council Mayor Damian Ferrari said the strategy will help boost important economic development in the municipality.
“This draft strategy has been created after consultation with the economic sector, businesses, Victorian Government agencies and the community,” Cr Ferrari said.
“We want to see our Shire’s economy grow and over the next five years. Economic development and prosperity have been a strong focus of this Council and our Council Plan, and we believe this strategy will kickstart a new economic era for Pyrenees Shire.
