Pyrenees Shire Council begins permanent CEO recruitment

Pyrenees Shire Council has begun the search for a permanent Chief Executive Officer.

The recruitment will be supported by executive recruitment firm Leading Roles, which is helping Council promote the position, identify potential candidates and attract a strong field of applicants.

Pyrenees Shire Mayor Damian Ferrari said appointing a permanent CEO was very important for both Council and the community.

“The recruitment and appointment of a CEO is one of Council’s most significant governance responsibilities,” Cr Ferrari said.

“The appointment of Leading Roles will provide Council with specialist expertise, market knowledge and recruitment support necessary to conduct a robust and effective recruitment process for the CEO position.

“We are looking for an experienced and capable leader who can work collaboratively with Councillors, staff and the community to help deliver Council’s priorities and guide the organisation into the future.

“The CEO plays a critical role in ensuring Council continues to provide high-quality services, deliver key projects and support the long-term wellbeing and prosperity of our communities.”

Council will provide further information as the recruitment process progresses.

Sally Jones will continue to serve as Interim CEO until a permanent appointment is made.
