Statement from Mayor Damian Ferrari - Bondi attack

“My fellow Councillors and I are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred at Bondi Beach on Sunday evening.

“Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with the victims, their families, and all those affected by this devastating incident.

“We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community at this difficult time, as people were gathered to observe a significant religious occasion.

“Hatred, discrimination and violence have no place in our society, and incidents of this nature are unequivocally condemned.

“I encourage our community to support those impacted in any way they can, including through practical acts of assistance and compassion.

“In times of tragedy, it is important that we come together as a community to support one another and reaffirm our shared values of respect, inclusion and safety.

“While our hearts are heavy, we remain united in our commitment to standing against hate and supporting all members of our community.”
