Do you know someone who’s made a real difference in Pyrenees Shire in the past 12 months? Or a group or organisation that hosted an outstanding event in 2025?

Now’s your chance to shine a spotlight on their efforts, with nominations open for Pyrenees Shire’s Australia Day Awards 2026.

Award categories include:

• Young Citizen of the Year

• Citizen of the Year

• Community Event of the Year.

Nominations close 12pm Monday 10 November 2025, with award recipients announced at the Pyrenees Australia Day event hosted by the Waterloo Community Group in Beaufort on Monday 26 January 2026.

Pyrenees Shire Mayor Tanya Kehoe said the annual Australia Day Awards were a fantastic way to highlight the achievements of individuals and groups within the municipality.

“Within our communities, we have many hard-working people who give so much of their time to help others. These awards give us the opportunity to recognise the work they do behind the scenes to help make Pyrenees Shire a wonderful place to live today,” Cr Kehoe said.

To nominate an individual or an event, go to pyrenees.vic.gov.au/Community/Australia-Day-Awards-2026 and submit a form online.

You can also download a form to fill in and either email it to pyrenees@pyrenees.vic.gov.au, mail it to Chief Executive Officer, 5 Lawrence St, Beaufort 3373 or drop it to either the Beaufort Council Office, the Beaufort Community Resource Centre or the Avoca Information Centre.
