Beaufort Shire Hall maintenance has started

Essential maintenance works have begun at the Beaufort Shire Hall to maintain and repair the building’s exterior.
The work is being carried out by Pyrenees Shire Council contactors to ensure the building remains safe, while preserving its unique architectural history for generations to come.
Works include window repairs and repainting the building’s exterior. The building’s sign will also be moved from the front of the building to above the main access doorway. All works will be completed in accordance with the area’s heritage overlay.
Works started in early October and will continue until the end of next week. All existing activities held in the Shire Hall will go ahead during this time as works are restricted to the building’s exterior.
Aligned with Council’s 10-Year Asset Plan, these works contribute to the ongoing maintenance and upgrades of Council assets.
Pyrenees Shire Council CEO Jim Nolan said the works to maintain the Shire Hall were an important part of the Council’s responsibility to maintain such an important public building’s integrity.
“The Shire Hall is a central part of our community, it is important that it is properly maintained for the community now and into the future,” Mr Nolan said.
“It is a valued hub for the entire community and hosts everything from dance lessons and graduation ceremonies to art exhibitions.”
