The Victorian Government and Pyrenees Shire Council is making it easier for visitors of all ages to stay at the beautiful Beaufort Lake and experience all the region has to offer, with new visitor cabins now open for business.

Member for Ripon Martha Haylett on Friday represented Minister for Regional Development Jaclyn Symes to announce the delivery of seven new cabins at the Beaufort Lake Caravan Park, along with Pyrenees Shire Council representatives.

The caravan park has doubled the number of cabins on offer to 14, including an all-abilities access cabin with two bedrooms, toilet, kitchen and ramp access – catering for people of all ages and abilities.

The new cabins, which were backed by $500,000 in funding through Regional Development Victoria and $500,000 from Pyrenees Shire Council, are set to attract more visitors to the small town, which relies on a vibrant visitor economy to drive growth and prosperity for local businesses and organisations.

Importantly, the new accommodation will also play a key role in addressing staffing shortages in the area, providing fixed term stays for workers unable to find lodgings in town, while at the same time helping to expand Beaufort’s visitor demographics and driving business tourism in the area.

The cabins, coupled with 47 camping sites at the park, mean a grand total of 61 lots are now ready to welcome visitors to Beaufort Lake. Seven full-time equivalent jobs were supported during the construction of the cabins.

Funding for the Beaufort Lakeside Caravan Park is part of our record $47 billion investment in rural and regional Victoria in just over a decade, meaning more jobs close to home and regional economies that are supported to thrive.
