Child and Family Health Nurse (Casual Relief)
Casual - Level 2/3
($70.74 - $74.29 per hour + Qualification allowance and experience level + Super)
The Pyrenees Shire Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Child and Family Health Nurse to join our Community Wellbeing and Partnerships team on a casual basis.
In this rewarding role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based Maternal and Child Health services to families with children from birth to school age. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support the health, wellbeing and development of children while empowering parents and carers through education, early intervention and connection to specialist support services.
About the Role
As our Child and Family Health Nurse, you will:
- Deliver Universal and Enhanced Maternal and Child Health services in line with Victorian guidelines.
- Conduct developmental, health and wellbeing assessments for infants and young children.
- Provide education and support to parents on infant feeding, breastfeeding, nutrition, sleep, child development, behaviour and parenting.
- Undertake psychosocial assessments and identify families requiring additional support.
- Facilitate referrals to specialist and community services where appropriate.
- Deliver childhood immunisation services.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and participate in multidisciplinary care planning.
- Promote child safety and comply with mandatory reporting requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse and Midwife with AHPRA.
- Qualifications in Child, Family and Community Health Nursing.
- Current Immunisation Provider Certificate.
- Demonstrated experience delivering Child and Family Health services.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work across multiple locations within the municipality.
- An understanding of the unique needs of families living in rural communities.
