Pyrenees Shire Council recognises theWadawurrung people, Dja Dja Wurrung people, Eastern Maar people and the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagulk Nations as the Traditional Owners of the land on which the municipality is located.
This project is focussed on completing repairs to flood damaged infrastructure in the Pyrenees Shire.
Repair work is continuing to repair flood damaged infrastructure such of roads, culverts, floodways and bridges, following the Oct/Nov 2022 floods. The costs to repair the infrastructure is through Federal and State funding and are expected to be completed by June 2026. The project is really important to make the infrastructure safe for the community and assist in building resilience towards future flooding.
