UPDATE May 10, 2022
The repair work at the Avoca Senior Citizen Building has been delayed because of a building permit issue.
The building industry is experiencing a high volume of work and therefore securing a professional to carry out the work caused initial delays.
The remediation work at the Building will proceed once permits have been obtained.
User groups are currently meeting in the Avoca Shire Hall in lieu of the Senior Citizens Building. Groups will be notified as soon as the Building is able to be occupied.
For enquiries about use of Council facilities please call 1300 797 363.
Council would like to provide the following update to the community about the Avoca Senior Citizen’s Centre.
The hall floor has shifted because of soil movement, and the centre is currently closed to remediate this issue.
User groups have been offered alternative meeting places at the Avoca Town Hall.
The cause of the soil movement is under investigation and Council is hopeful of a timely resolution to this issue.
We thank the community for their patience and understanding.
