Pyrenees Shire Council's 2026/27 Community Funding Program will open on Monday 31 August, providing funding for projects, events and initiatives that strengthen local communities and deliver positive social, cultural, environmental and economic outcomes across the Shire.

The program supports a wide range of community-led initiatives, with funding available for projects, events, minor capital works, equipment purchases, and one-off or seed-funded activities.

Mayor Cr Damian Ferrari encouraged community groups and organisations to consider applying.

"Our Community Funding Program helps local groups bring ideas to life, deliver valuable services and events, and make a real difference in their communities," Cr Ferrari said.

"Whether it's purchasing equipment, delivering a new project, hosting an event or upgrading community facilities, these grants provide practical support that helps strengthen community connections across the Shire."

"I encourage anyone considering an application to speak with Council's Community Development Team early to ensure they have the best chance of success."

Funding categories include:

  • Programs, Projects and Activities: Up to $2,000
  • Equipment: Up to $2,000
  • Community Event Support: Up to $2,000
