As part of their commitment to Plastic Free July, Beaufort Primary School students are taking steps to reduce plastic waste by embracing a new Choose Tap water fountain, installed in partnership between Central Highlands Water (CHW) and the Pyrenees Shire Council.

Plastic Free July is a global movement that empowers millions of people to be part of the solution to plastic pollution by creating cleaner streets, oceans, and communities. At Beaufort Primary School, students are now opting to refill reusable water bottles rather than using single-use plastic bottles. This small but impactful change is already reducing waste, supporting the environment, and encouraging healthy hydration habits.

Plastic Free July inspires individuals, schools, and communities to reconsider their plastic use and take simple actions that create lasting environmental benefits. By choosing tap water, Beaufort Primary students are stepping up as sustainability leaders within their community.

CHW is committed to caring for the environment, taking meaningful action to protect and enhance natural ecosystems, as well as reducing environmental impact and reinforcing the dedication to long-term sustainability.
