Celebrate the 2025 Victorian Seniors Festival in the Pyrenees
Published on 30 September 2025
Pyrenees Shire is celebrating the 2025 Victorian Seniors Festival throughout October, with a vibrant calendar of free and inclusive events taking place across the municipality.
This year’s theme, "Connect. Create. Celebrate." brings life to the Pyrenees with something for everyone—whether you're moving to the music with line dancing, diving into the world of geocaching, or being captivated by machine embroidery.
Highlights of the month include the interactive geocaching session and line dancing in Beaufort and the intergenerational activity in Avoca that will connect all ages. There is also a craft group session, a lively pop-up Beaufort Historical Society event at the Beaufort Community and Resource Centre, and a selection of free film screenings for all.
There will also be a Community and Service Provider Expo where you can speak to Beaufort Skipton Health Service and Mecwacare about home care services, Services Australia about My Aged Care and get the latest Aged Reform updates. NBN and Regional Tech Hub will also be there to troubleshoot mobile and internet issues.
And of course, don’t miss the chance to catch up with friends over a free cuppa and BBQ—a community favourite!
Pyrenees Shire Mayor Tanya Kehoe said the festival is a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate older residents across the shire.
“The Seniors Festival reminds us how important it is to continue to celebrate, connect and create throughout our lives. These events provide a fun and free way for people of all ages to come together across our communities” Cr Kehoe said.
“From dancing to crafts to geocaching, there’s a strong focus this year on shared experiences that span generations. We’re excited to see locals and visitors come together to celebrate.”
Events will be held throughout Beaufort, Avoca, and Landsborough, and all are welcome to attend. Whether you’re discovering a new hobby, revisiting an old one, or simply enjoying the company of others, there’s something for everyone.
