Council service changes over Christmas/New Year period

Lawrence Street Office
Pyrenees Shire Council’s Lawrence Street office will be closed from 3pm December 24 and reopen on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. During this period, if you require urgent Council assistance, please call 1300 797 363 and leave a message. The on-call officer will triage the request and provide assistance if required.
Pyrenees Community Care
Pyrenees Community Care will be providing personal care only during this time.
Resource Centres
Resource Centres in Beaufort and Avoca will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day and operate these hours on other days:
- Friday 24 December: 10am-3pm
- Monday 27 December: 10am-1pm
- Tuesday 28 December: 10am-1pm
- Wednesday 29 December: 10am-5pm
- Thursday 30 December: 10am-5pm
- Friday 31 December: 10am-5pm
- Sunday 2 January: 10am-1pm
- Monday 3 January: 10am-1pm
- Tuesday 4 January: 10am-5pm
Transfer Stations
Transfer Stations at Avoca, Beaufort, Landsborough and Snake Valley will be closed on Saturday December 25 and Sunday December 26, and Saturday January 1 and Sunday January 2. The stations will be open the following Mondays – December 27 and January 3 in lieu of the weekend. The stations will be open on their other normal days.
Waste and Recycling
Waste and recycling collections will continue on normal schedules this year.
