Pyrenees Shire Council is holding community drop-in sessions to assist any residents preparing their submission on the Western Renewables Link Environmental Effects Statement (WRL EES).

Council staff will be available to discuss any specific concerns of landholders affected by the project.

This session will also give community members the chance to have their concerns about the WRL EES reflected in Council’s formal submission.

The drop-in sessions will be held on:

  • Wednesday 13 August between 3-6pm at the Lexton Community Hub
  • Thursday 14 August from 7.30pm at the Amphitheatre Recreation Reserve and
  • Sunday 17 August from 4.00pm at the Landsborough Hall.

Drop in at any time.

Pyrenees Shire Mayor Tanya Kehoe said Council was committed to ensuring residents’ voices were heard as the WRL EES process was carried out.

“Council is keen to ensure that, if you have a view on this project, it is considered as part of our formal submission to the WRL EES,” Cr Kehoe said.

“Your input is vital in shaping outcomes that reflect our community values and priorities.

“We are aware the community has strong views about this project, and we want to help get those views heard.”

The EES describes the proposed project and its expected environmental effects, the process undertaken to develop the project, and how AusNet propose to avoid, mitigate or manage environmental effects.

A printed copy of the full EES and the draft Planning Scheme Amendment (PSA) are available at the Beaufort Community Resource Centre, along with a USB containing the same information.
