Pyrenees Shire Council has secured an exciting line-up for an outdoor event in Avoca on Sunday 20 February.

Powerhouse vocal blues and soul duo, the McNamarr Project will feature along with Orange Whip, an eight-piece funk band from Ararat. World-renowned performer Geoffrey Williams will take the stage, and, hailing from Ballarat, The Winter Berries will kick things off, setting the mood with sweet, soulful tunes.

This all ages, fun afternoon out will include a mobile parkour set up with Walk the Walls Parkour, where people can practice their spins, jumps, turn and tumbles with trained parkour instructors.

The Sunday by the River event aims to boost visitation, while also providing great entertainment for the local community in a relaxed, COVIDSafe atmosphere.

“This will be a time for the Pyrenees community and visitors alike to spread out a picnic rug, come and enjoy our region,” Pyrenees Shire Council Mayor Cr Ron Eason said.

“We are very proud to host these activities and support regional musicians, artists and food businesses who have been especially hard-hit by COVID restrictions,” Cr Eason said.

The event is funded by the State Government under the CovidSafe Outdoor Activation fund. Attendees will need to check-in and follow health and safety directions.
