At this year’s Municipal Association of Victoria’s (MAV) Councillor Service Awards, three of Pyrenees Shire’s councillors have been recognized for their ongoing service to the community.
The Councillor Services Awards celebrate the achievements, commitment, and dedication of long-serving councillors across the state.
Cr Ron Eason was recognized with the Mayor Emeritus award for serving three or more terms as Mayor.
Crs Tanya Kehoe and Ron Eason were recognized for serving 10 years as a councillor.
Cr David Clark was recognized for serving 25 years as a councillor.
“Congratulations to our councillors who were recognized at the MAV Councillor Service Awards. It’s not easy being a councillor and to give up so much or your time to work for the community is something that should be recognized,” said Pyrenees Shire Council CEO Jim Nolan.
“To step up and run for council is a big task. The councillors you elect are required to make a wide range of decisions in the best interests of the community, and to represent and advocate for our community in various forums. It’s important that we have members of the community willing to undertake the office of councillor for and from our community.
“Thank you to our councillors who have looked after our community consistently and reliably,” Mr Nolan said.
