All three of Pyrenees Shire’s pools have undergone minor but essential upgrades to be ready for the 2025-2026 season beginning Saturday 29 November.

The Beaufort Swimming Pool toddler pool has been given a facelift with a fresh coat of paint, along with essential plant and equipment maintenance undertaken across the complex.

The Landsborough Swimming Pool changerooms are currently planned for a refresh, though the toddler pool will remain closed as its ageing infrastructure doesn’t allow it to circulate water that meets current safety standards.

The Avoca Swimming Pool’s plant room has been upgraded for improved operation and water quality, along with other minor maintenance works including a new time and weather station clock.

The Avoca Friends of the Pool committee has also donated a new bench seat as a welcome addition for residents who just want to relax and enjoy the pool’s surrounds, while Avoca’s U3A has donated tile murals to brighten up the facility.

Pyrenees Shire Mayor Tanya Kehoe said the pools are a fantastic recreational asset that are enjoyed by large sections of the community over summer.

“On a hot day, everyone loves to flock to the pools and just splash around in the water, catch up with friends and family and enjoy a refreshing break from our western Victorian heat,” Cr Kehoe said.

“I encourage our community to come along and join in the fun at our three pools from November 29 as the temperature starts to rise.”

Pyrenees Shire Council’s pools are managed by Belgravia Leisure during the pool season. A range of fun programs and events will occur throughout the season. The community is encouraged to follow Belgravia’s social media accounts for updates and information.
