Pyrenees Shire Council will make changes to its Statutory Planning Service based on feedback from a recent survey.

While overall feedback reflected a high level of satisfaction with the service, there were key areas identified for improvement.

These include:

• Refining pre-application support and guidance

• Increasing transparency around permit conditions

• Improving staff accessibility and responsive

• Improving digital platform functionality

The online survey was conducted between May and August and was mainly aimed at residents who have used the service in the past two years.

Council requested the Statutory Planning Service undertake a comprehensive review of its current operations to ensure it continues meeting community expectations.

Pyrenees Shire CEO Jim Nolan said the survey provided valuable insights into the experiences of recent planning permit applicants.

“It’s pleasing to see a large number of applicants reflected a high level of satisfaction with Council’s Statutory Planning Service, and we thank residents who took the time to take part in the survey,” Mr Nolan said.

“However, addressing these areas for improvement will not only improve service efficiency but also build greater trust and confidence within the community.

“Council’s commitment to continuous improvement, informed by this user feedback, will ensure the service continues to deliver effective, customer-focused planning services that meet the needs of our residents.”
