Public Information Session: Rural Water Supply Feasibility Study

‘Securing the future of our region for our children’

The proposed Southern Wimmera and Northeast Pyrenees Water Supply is a major infrastructure project designed to consolidate water supply across parts of the Central Goldfields, Northern Grampians and Pyrenees Shires.

Landholders and members of the community in the north of the Pyrenees and neighbouring shires are invited to a public information session at Natte Yallock on Wednesday 22 February to find out more about the proposal and learn how to get involved.

The Natte Yallock Cricket Club will be providing a free BBQ meal from 6.00 p.m.

Guest speakers will make presentations from 7.00 p.m. and will include:

  • GWMWater: what the feasibility study means for landholders, and how you can get involved now
  • Case study: farmer from the Southwest Loddon Rural Water Supply - benefits of a secure pipeline supply
  • Agriculture Victoria: Regional Drought Resilience Strategy
  • Agriculture Victoria: managing sheep deaths caused by Lesser Loosestrife
  • Grampians Health: Resilient Farmer Project and opportunities for local communities
  • Pyrenees Shire Council: introduction to Council’s flood recovery team
  • Guest speakers will be available following the presentations to answer any questions you have over a cup of tea or coffee.
