The traditional owners of the Beaufort area are the Wadawurrung People.
The Beaufort Dog Haven will transform underutilised land into a fully fenced, off-leash dog park with dedicated areas for large and small dogs. The park will feature native vegetation for cooling and biodiversity, shaded seating, hydration stations, and Indigenous plantings with interpretive signage, promoting social cohesion and environmental sustainability.
Connecting to key other community assets, it will serve as a year-round hub for activities like dog obedience training and events. The park will attract travellers from the nearby highway, supporting local businesses while promoting health, well-being and connectivity for residents and visitors.
