Pyrenees Shire Council recognises the Wadawurrung people, Dja Dja Wurrung people, Eastern Maar people and the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagulk Nations as the Traditional Owners of the land on which the municipality is located.

This project is focussed on completing repairs to fire damaged infrastructure in the Pyrenees Shire.

Repair work will focus on replacement of damaged guardrails, signposts and guideposts across the fire impacted area. The costs to repair the infrastructure are covered through Federal and State funding and works are expected to be completed by June 2026.  The project is really important to make the infrastructure safe for the community and assist in building resilience towards future fires.
