Floodway works in Gladstone Street, Lexton, began on 3 March and will continue for about two weeks. The project will affect Gladstone Street and Black Bottom Road, near the intersection with Beaufort-Lexton Road.
The project will involve replacing the old pipe under the road with a much larger box culvert, adding new kerbs and small walls and putting a fresh concrete layer over the surface. The roadside drain will be reshaped so water flows better, and rocks will be moved and added on both sides of the pipe to help prevent erosion.
