Southern Wimmera and Northeast Pyrenees Water Supply Project

The Southern Wimmera and Northeast Pyrenees Water Supply Project (SWNP) will deliver a secure, sustainable and reliable water supply to up to nine towns across Pyrenees Shire, Northern Grampians Shire and Central Goldfields Shire.

The project will support communities and landholders currently reliant on saline groundwater or without access to a secure town water supply, providing long-term water security for households, agriculture, industry and for regular emergency events.

Project partners include Goulburn Murray Water and Central Highlands Water.

Council is asking for $5 million from the Victorian Government to progress this project to shovel-ready.
